Milan High School Local Scholarship Opportunities

Please submit completed applications to the MHS Counseling Department by the deadlines listed below.

2026 Local scholarship application Due February 12, 2026

  • American Legion Post 268 Scholarship: This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a relative of a veteran and who is planning to pursue an education in the areas of physical therapy, special education, nursing, or other related health occupations. The greatest criterion for the award is financial need.
  • Knights of Columbus: These scholarships are awarded to a graduate of Milan High School.

2026 Edna mead scholarship application Due February 12, 2026

  • The Edna B. Mead Scholarships are available to graduates of Milan High School who have attended class on campus for at least one year. Students who apply must be admitted to an accredited junior college, community college, or four-year college/university program leading to a four-year (or more) degree.

2026 brent legault memorial scholarship application Due February 12, 2026

  • Brent Legault Scholarship applicants must be Milan High School students who plan to attend a trade school, 2 year program or 4 year institution. Preference for study in automotive, engineering, computer or health related fields, but not limited to these areas.

class of 2025 scholarship application Due February 12, 2026

  • Gifted by the Class of 2025, these $1000 scholarships for three Milan High School Class of 2026 graduates. The scholarship is for three students for whom this gift would make a difference in their post-secondary education. No GPA requirement.

peo scholarship application Due February 12, 2026

  • The PEO Scholarship is for a young woman graduating from Milan High School who has experienced obstacles, challenges and/or hardships in her life. However, she has the potential and commitment necessary to make a difference in her own life and the lives of others through continued education.

Women's auxiliary of the american legion application Due February 12, 2026

  • Gifted by the American Legion Auxiliary, this scholarship is for two Milan High School Class of 2026 graduates who plan on entering the medical field. 

Saline-milan masonic Charitable foundation scholarship Due February 12, 2026

  • The Saline-Milan Masonic Lodge will award at least one scholarship to a graduating senior who has been accepted or is enrolled in an accredited vocational/technical school, two-year community college, or a four-year college. Priority consideration will be granted to a student with a financial need and documented community service activities.

Community Foundation of Monroe County Scholarship Opportunities

2026 CFMC Scholarship Descriptions and Online Application - Application Deadline February 21, 2026.

The Community Foundation of Monroe County (CFMC) has automated the scholarship process for students. Via the online application, it is now a one-stop shop for students. The digital application makes students eligible for most of the 12 MHS scholarship funds handled by the CFMC. Paper copies are no longer needed as all components may be completed electronically. 

Visit this website and follow the instructions to create an account. This allows access to the scholarship applications. Students may apply for these scholarships from December 1, 2025 to February 21, 2026.

The Darling Memorial Endowed Scholarship
For those pursuing an engineering, agriculture, science or medicine degree. 

Caroline O’Donnell & Judy Heath Memorial Scholarship
For those pursuing a career in healthcare.

Michael A. Tittiger Sustainability & Conservation Scholarship
For minority status seniors interested in environmental sustainability and/or conservation.

Milan Adult Education Scholarship
For tuition and textbook assistance within the Milan Adult Education program. 

Evelyn Gerstenberg (Hitchingham) Scholarship
For those pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree. Must submit a copy of financial statement each year to claim. 

Ronnie and Paulette Shores Scholarship Fund
For those with a physical disability or other impairment as documented by an IEP or 504.

Ethel Richards Scholarship
For those pursuing a Business degree.

Milan Area School Board Scholarship
For those pursuing college or a vocational program.

Duane & Isabelle Schultz – Milan Area Schools Alumni Scholarship
For those pursuing college or a vocational program.

Ethan C. Jones Memorial Scholarship
For those pursuing college or a vocational program. May apply for renewal each year. 

David Glenn Memorial Scholarship
For those pursuing a degree in education.

Eric Harrison Memorial Scholarship
For varsity sports athletes pursuing a college or business school degree.

Linda Grasselli Sprankle Scholarship: African American, Latino/Hispanic, or first generation in the family to attend college or university; Resident of Washtenaw County; Will be or are a high school graduate; Minimum 3.2 GPA; Financial need.  

James K. Stringwell Scholarship: Graduating senior of a public high school in Washtenaw County; Planning to enroll in a Michigan public university or college; Minimum 2.5 GPA; Financial Need; Participation in either athletics or artistic extracurricular activities; Demonstrated emotional intelligence and an entrepreneurial spirit 

Gamma Rho Boule Scholarship: Male; African American; Graduating from a public or private high school in Washtenaw County; Attending college or university; Minimum 2.5 GPA 

AAACF Community Scholarship: Pell eligible (currently or has in the past qualified for the free or reduced lunch program), youth of color, OR first generation in your family to graduate with a 4-year degree; Resident of Washtenaw County; Will be or are a high school graduate within the last 24 months; Enrolling in college for the first time; Minimum 2.0 GPA

WCC Scholarships

WCC offers three scholarships specifically for Washtenaw County high school students: the President's Scholarship, the Procassini Scholarship, and the Excellence Scholarship. To learn more about and apply to these, please visit their financial aid page linked here. These digital applications are due by March 20.

Monroe County Community College Scholarships

Monroe County Community College Scholarship applications are due March 1. Some of the scholarships are only for students residing in Monroe County but the Trustee Merit Scholarship is for all students admitted to MCCC. Other Scholarships

LMCU Hutt Scholarship - Due December 15, 2025: This $2,000 scholarship is for high school seniors who are residents of Michigan. For more information, visit their website here.    

MEA (Michigan Education Association) Scholarship Information

  • Dependent of MEA member or MEA-Retired member in good standing
  • DUE:  TBD
  • Application: MEA Scholarship Application
  • Priority is given on the basis of academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, school and community service. 

Blavin Scholarship - This scholarship is for students admitted to the University of Michigan who have experienced Foster Care, Kinship Care, or are navigating college without the support of a parent/guardian.

The Donovan Xavier Baker Scholarship Fund - This scholarship is for African American male students between the ages of 17 and 22 who reside in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, or Washtenaw County and are planning on attending a two-year school, four-year school, trade school, or technical college. 

The Michigan Relocation Council Scholarship - This scholarship is for current high school seniors who have relocated into Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo Public Schools and their surrounding counties over the course of their high school career. To qualify for the scholarship, the student must have relocated more than 50 miles sometime between grades 9 and 12 and changed schools due to their family’s relocation. The applicant must also have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
